Conditions are the driest they've been since the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.Four years of continuous drought have made farming and ranching difficult if not impossible.

Kiln dried lumber has a moisture content of about 12 percent.Much of the underbrush and many of trees in Colorado's heavily forested land have less than 10 percent.
