The films represent the best of local talent, according to Adam Hart, film curator at Consolidated Works.
"More than technical proficiency, we were looking for unique perspective," said Hart."It takes a lot of work to put a movie together and some of these filmmakers are really quite amazing."
In addition to six UW filmmakers, the festival includes pieces from students of the Seattle Film Institute, Seattle University, the Art Institute of Seattle and University of Puget Sound.
"The purpose of this festival is to try to create a student filmmaking community that is larger than any one campus or school," said Hart.

Two top prizes will be awarded at the festival, but according to Hart the judging isn't the focus of the evening.The reason for the judging is not to pick the best film, said Hart, it is to get the Seattle film community involved with student work.

"In a lot of ways, getting feedback from these people is the prize," said Hart.
