Edward Harsy, age 68, of Pinckneyville, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 at his home.

Ed was born in DuQuoin on January 16, 1934, the son of Edward E. and Jessie (Welch) Harsy.He married Patricia A. Keene on February 6, 1954 in Pinckneyville and she survives.During his lifetime, he was a farmer, member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville, worked as an operating engineer at Freeman United Coal Company in DuQuoin for 30 years and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
