UNDP's resident representative, Dr Inyang Ebong Harstrup, said the agreement would enable the local business sector to fulfil its social responsibility to the national community.

A mixture of government, business and civic society, she said, is needed to address the numerous social problems presently facing the country."This would also build support for the UNDP menu of private sector engagement programmes," Harstrup said.

She said that development cannot be accomplished through government and civil society alone.It requires a multi-sectoral approach, she noted.
