    (AP) , Tennessee has hired former Texas assistant Kathy Harston, who served as head coach of the Plainview Lady Bulldogs in the 1980s, as basketball operations director for the Lady Vols in Knoxville.

    Tennessee coach Pat Summitt says Harston, who served 18 years under legendary Longhorns coach Jody Conradt, brings "a wealth of experience and knowledge in all phases of the game and operations" to Tennessee.

    Team MVP as a senior, she finished her standout career with 1,617 points - which currently ranks eighth in all-time WBU scoring.
