Even though the game got a little ugly late, Harrison will take the upset any way she can.

When asked if she thought before the season her team would finish tied for second in the conference, Harrison replied: "We had hope, but nothing for sure."

Holly Harrison, Decatur Middle SchoolHolly South Harrison is a 1991 graduate of Decatur High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of North Texas.Coach Harrison returned to coach and teach in 1996 because she wanted to be close to her family and to work with familiar faces.Meanwhile, she continued her education and received her Master Degree from Texas Wesleyan University in the spring of 2003.Beneath her calm exterior is someone committed to the success of students, loyal to DISD, and focused on reaching her goals.She improves the middle school students she coaches and teaches as she sets a professional tone in each of her classes.Creative activities in Health make interesting an area most of us deem "boring".Her calm, positive demeanor is an example for the young ladies she coaches.However, in the heart of a game her intensity is evident as is her commitment to what athletics is all about - giving kids experiences they can rely on later in life, allowing teamwork to drive each athlete, encouraging everyone to be their best.The Boatman claims "Be it jewel or toy, not the prize gives the joy, but the striving to win the prize."Coach Harrison not only finds joy in striving to win the prize, but she also gives joy to all she encounters along the way.Coach Harrison is always willing to serve in roles beyond her daily duties and is faithful and punctual with things entrusted to her care.Those who work close to her know "what you see is what you get."She is consistent and forthright.
