Born December 29, 1922 in Pennsylvania son of the late William and Irene (Basline) Heath.Graduated from Butler High School (Pa.) in 1942.Following high school he enlisted in the Air Force graduating as a pilot.He served in the European Theatre during WW II.He was one of the first pilots to tow gliders during the war.D-Day he flew directly behind pathfinder to drop troops.He retired from the Air Force Reserves after many years of service.Following his service he attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College and OSU.He graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (Pa.).His profession was a technical illustrator at North American-Rockwell for 18* years.He was an avid reader, loved his family, baseball and history.He coached a City League Championship baseball team while at North American-Rockwell.He was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Church and coached baseball there.Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty C.; and children, Patricia Anne Schroeder (Jeffrey) of Castleton, Vt., Linda Suzanne Scott (Lawrence) of Reynoldsburg, Richard Paul (Dawn) of Mentor, Oh., Michael Paul of Worthington and Theresa Anne Campbell of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, David, Amy, Nichole, Teah, Joshua, Renee and Sarah; brothers, Charles and Thomas of Butler, Pa. Preceded in death by his parents and brother William Heath Jr. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wake service 8 p.m. at the EGAN-RYAN EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. HUNTER Willie Edna Hunter, 82, of Columbus, died Monday, December 24, 2001 at Doctor's Hospital West.She was born March 18, 1919 in West Blocton, Ala., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nolya McCullough.Willie was retired from General Motors with many years of dedicated service.In addition to raising a loving family, Willie enjoyed playing the Ohio Lottery weekly and loved Bingo.Prededed in death by her husband James C. in 1994, parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, son-in-law Robert Moore and grandson-in-law, Donald Underwood.Willie is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Rhoda Moore, Nolya Saulsbury and Lisa Sheets, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Rhonda (Bill) Scholl, Carla Sue Moore, Jamye Underwood and Kathryn Sheets, all of Columbus; great-granddaughters, Shannyn Lacey Underwood and Jessica Robyn Ann Scholl; brothers, Robert (Muriel) McCullough of Ill. and Joe (Frances) Strickland of Tenn.; sisters, Thelma Trumbo of Tenn. and Bobbie (Gary) Jones of La.; mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hunter of Grove City; brother-in-law, Oren Frazier of Tenn. and close personal friends, Tanya Schmittauer and Danny (Rose) Batdorff.Calling hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001.Interment to follow at Grove City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice.Email expressions of sympathy to hunter5condolences@schoedinger.com.
