  Arcana Comics is proud to announce that Jennica Harper has been named the screenwriter of the upcoming animated Clockwork Girl film, which recently received funding from Telefilm Canada.
  
  Jennica Harper was born in North Bay, Ontario, grew up in Brampton, and now lives in Vancouver, BC. She works as a screenwriter and story editor in the Canadian film industry, and is also a published poet and occasional stand-up comic. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and a BA in English from the University of Toronto.

  Jennica Harper is a screenwriter, story editor, and poet who moved to Vancouver in 1998 to study creative writing at UBC, where she earned her MFA. She has had a variety of feature projects in development including The Clockwork Girl (an adaptation of the Arcana Kids comic book), Or Best Offer (Ajani Entertainment), Long Shot (Howe Sound Films), and How I Learned to be the Bridesmaid from Hell. Her TV projects include the original series Top Secretary (Omni Film) and Mayor Jake (Howe Sound Films).
  
  Jennica has been commissioned to write or rewrite a number of features, including Year of the Carnivore (Screen Siren/Sook Yin Lee), Love, Americano (Robison Films/Massey Productions), The Marriage Celebrant (Diva Films/Crescent Entertainment), and Spymate (Keystone Pictures).
  
  In addition, Jennica is an accomplished poet, and has two published books of poetry to her credit: What It Feels Like for a Girl (Anvil Press, 2008) and The Octopus and Other Poems (Signature Editions, 2006), as well as a comic book, Abigail's War (Zeros2Heroes Media, 2008).

  Jennica is a Vancouver poet, screenwriter, and story editor.Since receiving her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, her poetry has been widely published in literary journals in Canada, and her first collection of poetry, The Octopus and Other Poems, was published by Signature Editions in 2006.
  
  Her screen work includes writing on the feature films Love, Americano (in development, Robison Films/Massey Productions), The Marriage Celebrant (in pre-production, Diva Films/Crescent Entertainment), and Spymate (produced in 2003, Keystone Pictures).In 2003, Jennica received a BC Film Screenwriting Fellowship to work on her feature drama, Or Best Offer, under the guidance of story editor Paul Quarrington.
