Maria is responsible for supporting all development activities within the organization, including coordinating all grant proposals and reports, administering the donor database, managing direct mail campaigns, and supporting donor relations and stewardship for foundations, government, individuals, special events, and planned giving.

Maria's interest in Admission Possible stems from her personal experience as a low income high school student.Growing up in the inner cities of St.Louis and Chicago, many of her talented friends and classmates were unable to gather the financial and moral support to gain college admission.Maria was fortunate to receive a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in May of 2001.

Following graduation, she worked in the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity at the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she assisted in empowering minority undergraduate students for education and careers in medicine.She then spent two years at Minnesota Housing Partnership, a nonprofit working to provide safe, decent and affordable homes to all Minnesotans by 2012.
