If President Bush won't heed the call for peace, then Congress must, said Ryan Haney, a student at Kennesaw State University.
"We need to put pressure on Democrats in Congress to bring the troops home," Haney said."We need to push them to follow the mandate against the war that they were elected on."
Haney was among students from campuses across Georgia who rode up for the march.
"On our bus, there were 50 students out of 80 people total," he said.He said students came from the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Emory University, Agnes Scott College, Wesleyan College, Mercer University and other schools.
"When the protests started, it seemed to be mostly an older, '60s crowd from the Vietnam era," said Haney, who said students from a number of Georgia campuses have since formed a peace coalition.
