The keynote speaker at this year's Optimus user group will be Mike Hancock, who was managing director of the industry's leading research association, PIRA, until his recent retirement.The user group, which will be held in Warwick on Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd October, has grown each year and now attracts customers from around the world.
In addition to learning about the latest technology and product developments from Optimus, which is one of Europe's leading MIS suppliers, delegates can learn from the experience of other printers using MIS as well as hearing about important trends in the industry that may affect their business.
Mike Hancock trained as a physicist and worked in research and development prior to joining PIRA 29 years ago.He was subsequently involved in various research, training and consultancy roles at PIRA before being appointed as managing director eight years ago.Since then he has become one of the printing industry's best known and respected figures and was instrumental in a management buyout of PIRA in 2000.The theme of his presentation will be: Identifying emerging technologies and how these will provide new opportunities and effect printing processes during the next ten years.
