WILSONVILLE, Ore., May 17, 2001 - Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced today that Michael Hancock has been hired as the vice president of Sales for the Americas.

Most recently the senior vice president of sales and marketing at internet talent supply management start-up Hire.com, Hancock has over 15 years within the EDA industry with GE Calma, Daisy-Cadnetix, and Synopsys.As one of the original five sales employees hired at Synopsys, Hancock grew with the organization, ultimately serving as area sales director.
Based in Mentor's Austin sales office, Hancock holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
