I think the Roanoke City Market is the heart of the city , he says.It's one of our primary tourist destinations.We don't want people to come to the area and have a bad experience.People will tell a bad story a hundred times more than a good story..

Hancock said Roanoke might eventually customize its machine's announcement , too - perhaps with an actor providing a cartoonish interpretation of how the Big Lick mutt might sound.

The Downtown Norfolk Business Improvement District owns three Green Machine sweepers.

Hancock said Downtown Roanoke Inc. has no immediate plans to train sweeper operators as downtown ambassadors.
