Liu Hanbin Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice President of the China Family Planning Association, former Vice Minister of the State Family Planning Committee (SFPC) of China, Vice President of the Population Welfare Foundation of China. While Vice Minister of SFPC, he was responsible for contraceptives and contributed greatly to the availability and accessibility of contraceptives. He developed the population management information system, leading the development of CFPA as a pioneer of the Chinese NGO movement. Under his leadership, CFPA made the strategic plan and made its Constitution Revision focusing on the role of the NGO in reproductive rights. He is a strong advocate for ICPD by writing reports to the government and the congress promoting attention to the prevention of HIV/AIDS.

"Now is the time to change the traditional ideology of sexual avoidance and to give up unsophisticated teaching methods which simply preached moral standards," Liu Hanbin, deputy director of the Family Planning Association of China, was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

The three-volume set for middle school students, aged 11 to 17, will include opinions and methods from developed countries, Xinhua said.
