Dr. Tom Han was born in Zagreb, Croatia (former Yugoslavia) and has lived in the U.S. since age 10.After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Chicago and USC to study chemistry and mathematics.During his senior year, he accepted a position as the head of operations at an educational-services firm in Los Angeles.Shortly thereafter, Dr. Han borrowed approximately $250,000 from various sources to start educational consulting businesses in San Diego and Las Vegas.Within three years, he had recouped all of the start-up debt, sold both companies, and realized a capital gain of over 200%.Following a move back to Los Angeles, Dr. Han served as CFO of Lecomp Co.Inc., which controlled diversified holdings in the education and computer-hardware industries.Subsequent to that, he worked as a management consultant and then returned to USC to complete his education.In the next few years, he earned an M.A. and a Ph.D., while setting a department record for the shortest doctoral program at USC. (Dr. Han received his M.A. and Ph.D. within three years of his enrollment in graduate school.The average duration of a doctoral program in the social sciences and humanities is 7.7 years.) During the last several years, he has made contributions in the public sector as an international consultant and university professor.Since lastsummer, he has been the head of GartnerGroup Â's Marketplace Consulting practice in Texas.
Dr. Han has acquired expertise in e-commerce, e-business, strategic planning, new business development and corporate finance, which he has combined with training in market analysis and economic research to achieve continual successes in the domestic and international consulting arenas.In addition, through his exposure to operations and his involvement in entrepreneurial ventures, he has gained a unique familiarity with sales and marketing and is thus able to create a product and sell it as well.Furthermore, Dr. Han is adept at both quantitative and qualitative methods of business analysis and has benefited from exposure to practical and theoretical approaches to corporate problem solving.He has extensive mathematical background and is familiar with various aspects of business-related modeling.
