    Mr. Phil Hamric's career started with General Electric in the nuclear field at Hanford, where he provided physics support to the production reactors.He became the supervisor of the physics support group.

    Mr. Hamric's 27-year career with the Department of Energy began in AEC Headquarters in the Reactor Development and Technology Division working on the FFTF reactor design.He then spent 18 years at the Idaho Operations Office in Idaho Falls managing a number of major nuclear and environmental programs for DOE at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory.At Hanford, he served as Deputy Manager of DOE's Richland Operations Office from 1990 - 1993.Phil became the Manager of the DOE Field Office at the Fernald, OH nuclear weapons plant cleanup site in late 1993 and then was named the first Manager of the newly established Ohio Field Office in Miamisburg in 1994.There he was responsible for management of cleanups of nuclear facilities in Ohio including the Mound Laboratory, laboratory facilities in Columbus, the RMI site in Ashtabula as well as the Fernald Site and the DOE West Valley Site in New York State.

    Mr. Hamric is a 1960 graduate of Virginia Military Institute with a BS degree in Physics and he later pursued graduate studies at the University of Washington in Nuclear Engineering.He served in the U. S. Army from 1961 to 1963 and was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.
