Lalai S. Hamric, president and CEO of Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida Inc., announced recently that the not-for-profit community healthcare organization is the recipient of a $333,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to serve the medical and dental needs of homeless individuals in Lee County.
"To further emphasize the communities' faith-based healthcare and social service organizations as partners in the outreach effort to the homeless, Family Health Centers is planning and coordinating this program with Cornerstone Ministries, the Salvation Army, the Homeless Coalition and other local organizations involved in serving this special population," explained Mrs. Hamric.
"We're excited to have this opportunity to provide medical and dental care to a part of the population that is in great need of our services," added Mrs. Hamric."Interacting with Cornerstone Ministries, the Salvation Army and Family Health Centers will enable us to serve the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the homeless."
