DENVER, November 20, 2002 , On Command Corporation (NASDAQ: ONCO), the leading provider of in-room interactive services, business information and guest services for the lodging industry, today announced Mark K. Hammond has been appointed to the board of directors for On Command Corporation.

Mr. Hammond is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Amerus Annuity Group, a subsidiary of AmerUs Group, a New York Stock Exchange traded company.Mr. Hammond has 16 years of experience with Deloitte & Touche LLP and several years of additional experience serving as the chief financial officer of various businesses.

With Mr. Hammond's appointment, there are no further vacancies on On Command's board, which has been fixed at seven members.In addition to his general board responsibilities, Mr. Hammond will also chair On Command's Audit Committee, which includes board members Ken Carroll, acting president and chief financial officer of Liberty Satellite & Technology, Inc. and David Wargo, president of Wargo & Company.

Mark K. Hammond serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for AmerUs Annuity Group.Mr. Hammond manages the financial and treasury operations for AmerUs Annuity Group, as well as managing policyholder conservation.

Prior to joining AmerUs Annuity Group in 2001, Mr. Hammond was with Orion Auto Group in Denver, Colorado, where he held the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.His previous experience includes seventeen years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he served as an audit partner in the Kansas City practice, specializing in the insurance sector.

Mr. Hammond received a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Kansas State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant
