Mark Hammond, who heads Omnitronix's materials testing division, says it was a challenge to create a new way to test the adherence of the injection-molded insole to the leather upper and the outer sole.

"We have had to invent new testing equipment for various types of manufacturing - wood, steel, food, plastic, even condoms," notes Hammond.
