  I was the first up the stairs and met Fred in the shack working a UK station on the Isle of Wight.Generously, he handed the mike to me for a talk to the lads back home.Never forgotten that and what a great guy he was.

  As the Marketing Manager at Western Fair in London we are pleased to have the Hammond Museum involved with our Fair this year....My Father Clive Taylor(VE3CL) was a very good friend of Fred Hammond for many years...I enjoyed reading the company history and tributes to Fred Hammond as it reimnds me of some of the stories my dad used to tell me about Fred Hammond.He was a very unique man, and I have many fond memories of family trips to Guelph to visit with the Hammond family.

  I met Fred at the ARRL Convention in Toronto in 1977.I was just newly licenced, and Fred had some words of wisdom for me as I was trying to decide on the purchase of my first rig.I didnt know who he was at the time, but I was impressed with his knowledge and ability.It was only later that Dave VE3GCE(SK) who I met at the bar informed me as to who Fred was that I realized I had been helped by one of the foremost men in the Canadian amateur radio community.Through the years I came to know Fred well, I was a member of the Waterloo ARC for a while and we visited the museum several times during my residence in the Simcoe area.Fred is missed in the amateur circles, but certainly remembered forever for his generosity and kindness.73's my friendCarl

  Fred Hammond is a Universitarian Universalist Pastor, and a student at the Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago.He visited Mexico in July as a part of a 2 week delegation that was organized by the Peace House.Here, Fred shares his thoughts about the 3 day visit that the delgation made to El Pacayal, a small community in Chiapas situated near the border with Guatemala.
