Mr. G. Dwight Hamilton

G. Dwight Hamilton, choral conductor, music educator and vocal performer, a graduate of Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, attended graduate school at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

He has taught music on the elementary, secondary and college levels.Currently he is on leave from Milwaukee Public Schools where, among many duties, he conducted the All-City Vocal Jazz Ensemble for three biennial music festivals.He has conducted youth and adult choruses in Germany.Additionally, he has served as music director for projects with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Players, Milwaukee Public Theater, and African American Children's Theater.

As the director of music at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Mr. Hamilton conducts the adult, teen, and children's choirs.There he has conducted choirs and orchestra in performances of Handel's Messiah and Vivaldi's Gloria.

Mr. Hamilton has received the Distinguished Choral Director Award from the Civic Music Association and the Wisconsin Cares About Kids Award from the State Public Defender's Office presented by Governor Tommy Thompson.
