Blue Ash-based Automotive International Inc., which makes a wide range of car-care chemicals for the dealer and manufacturer markets, is on track to beat its 2000 records for both sales and profits, said CEO Rick Hallberg Jr.

"January and February were off, but we've been doing well since," said Hallberg, whose company will work on some 15,000 vehicles this year.
It's an encouraging picture but not yet a crystal-clear one.Many suppliers and parts makers to the heavy industrial market aren't doing well.And two of the largest publicly held manufacturers in the Tri-State, Milacron Inc. and General Cable Corp., both sounded warning bells in late July about the near future.
