New South Wales's Foundation of Islamic Studies and Information Chairman, Amin Hady, told The Muslim News that the lack of mosques built in a region is due to the small number of Muslims living in that particular area."If the Muslims move back because of the lack of the mosque this will definitely affect the economy.But Muslims in the small towns should start conducting religious services by renting public halls, or even in the private houses and slowly they can build a mosque for themselves," he argued.

Amin Hady is a part time PhD Candidate at the School of Modern Language Studies, University of New South Wales in Sydney.He obtained his BA in Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia and his MA in Islamic and Arabic studies from the Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt.He is Senior Imam of AFIC (Australian Federation of Islamic Councils) Zetland Mosque in Sydney and former Imam of the Canberra Mosque.He is actively involved in Interfaith activities, and is permanent member of "Australian National Dialogue of Jews, Muslims and Christians" based in Sydney.He attended and delivered papers to Islamic and Interfaith Conferences, incl. in Seoul, Jakarta and Sydney.He is also chairman of Foundation of Islamic Studies and Information (FISI) and member of the Reference Group established by the Australian Federal Government following the Summit with Australian Muslim Leaders invited by the Prime Minister of Australia.
