David Gutting founded the agency in 1979 after working four years at the Missouri Credit Union League, where he was responsible for publications and marketing.He has extensive experience in writing for print, broadcast and publications.In addition to running DG&A on a day-to-day basis, he directs all creative work of the agency and oversees the development of all strategies for agency clients.

David is an active member of the Advertising Club of St. Louis, is a member of the board of directors of the Gifted Resource Council, and is on the advisory board of the Emerson Electric Center for Business Ethics at Saint Louis University.He received the Public Service Award from the St. Louis Alzheimer's Association in 1990.

David holds a bachelor's degree in history from Washington University in St. Louis and a master's degree in communications from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania.
