Phil serves as the firm's Corporate Practice Group leader and is rated AV® by Martindale-Hubbell®.He practices in the areas of business law, taxation, securities, franchising, and estate planning.

Phil helps businesses of all sizes grow through acquisitions and partnerships, protect intellectual property, and raise capital through debt and equity offerings.He also advises clients on trademark, copyright, trade secret and licensing matters.

Phil's practice includes assisting business clients with mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, federal, state and international tax planning, entity formation, employment arrangements, executive compensation, joint ventures and partnerships, buy-out arrangements, and incentive stock ownership plans.Phil also assists clients with wealth preservation, including domestic and offshore trusts.

Phil is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA).He has published articles covering topics such as choice of business entity and estate planning for small and large business owners.He has also lectured on various topics of interest to business owners.

Phil received a Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University in 1995.He served as an associate editor of the Arizona State Law Journal.He was inducted into the Order of the Coif upon graduation.Phil also obtained a Masters in Taxation from Arizona State University.He studied finance and philosophy at Boston College as an undergraduate.He graduated Brophy College Preparatory high school in Phoenix, Arizona.

Phil is an avid golfer and martial arts instructor.He teaches Kajukenbo and Lua at Chandler Gilbert Community College and is a fourth degree black belt in Kajukenbo and second degree black belt in Hawaiian Lua self-defense systems.He is married with two children; his wife works as a women's health care nurse practitioner.
