North state Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa honored Red Bluff resident Catherine Guttierrez as his second Assembly District Woman of the Year.

Guttierrez was honored on the Assembly Floor during the annual ceremony recognizing outstanding women from California's 80 Assembly districts.
The day began with a special breakfast reception in Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's conference room where Catherine was accompanied by her husband, Tom, her daughter, Monique, and her sister, Mary Helser.

Guttierrez is a businesswoman and community volunteer from Tehama County.She is a devoted wife and mother of four as well as the owner of an Allstate insurance agency in Red Bluff.She serves as Co-Chair for the Red Bluff Rotary's Annual Wine and Coffee fund-raiser for local scholarships.She also assists with Child Safety Day in coordination with the California Highway Patrol, fingerprinting and photographing children in the community.She has previously chaired the fund-raising efforts for Sacred Heart School in Red Bluff.
Guttierrez also serves on the Red Bluff Union High School Sober Grad Night committee and works with Latino Outreach Tehama County, reaching out to Hispanic families in the community with information, training and opportunities for greater participation in the community.
Guttierrez said, "I am honored to receive the Woman of the Year' recognition by Assemblyman LaMalfa.It is my hope that this recognition encourages others to express their passion for helping the community especially the kids, who are our future."
LaMalfa said of Guttierrez, "Catherine truly represents what it means to be a community volunteer.
