2005 Board Chair, Linda Gutmann
Linda Gutmann quickly made an impression.After just five years on the board at United Way, Linda's leadership has earned her the 2005 Chair position.
A member of the Russell Investment Group staff, Linda was named Russell's director of corporate finance in 1997.At that time, she assumed responsibility for overseeing all the accounting functions for the firm's worldwide operations.In this role, she manages Russell's global accounting operations, including financial audits, regulatory reporting, corporate treasury and insurance, invoicing and disbursements, equity plan record keeping and management reporting and analysis.Linda is a member of Russell's risk management committee.
In 1986, Linda joined Russell as general accounting manager.She became Russell's assistant controller in 1988 and in 1991, Linda assumed controllership responsibilities for all Russell entities.Prior to joining Russell, Linda was on the audit staff with Knight, Vale & Gregory (now McGladrey & Pullen LLP) from 1983 to 1986.
Linda is the recipient of two Russell awards.In 1989, she received the Russell Award for Excellence, which recognizes personal commitment to excellence as measured by managers and peers.In 1997, Linda was nominated by her staff, and received the Russell Leadership Award, in recognition of her strong leadership and people management skills.
Linda currently chairs Russell's corporate giving committee and oversees the Russell matching gifts program.
Linda's other community activities include board membership for the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation.
Linda has been a member of the United Way Board of Directors since 1999.
