Gustar joins OCG Limited 06/01/2003
OCG Limited, a consultancy of experts in people development and organisation development, has announced the appointment of Gillian Gustar (formerly Khashaki).Gillian will join as a Consulting Director in a move to strengthen and diversify the team. She joins from HBOS Life and Pensions where she was Head of Organisation and People Development.
"I was attracted to OCG because its commitment to creating a genuine and enduring impact on the organisations and individuals it works with is very much in line with my personal approach," says Gustar."My new role presents the exciting challenge of blending the knowledge and experience I've gained in a range of strategic and operational roles with the strong business psychology backgrounds of the rest of the team.I think we have a lot to learn from each other, and our cumulative strengths will benefit our clients."
"Having worked with OCG as a client over the last five years, I know they share the importance I place on relationships," continues Gustar."I believe the quality of relationships between people in organisations strongly influences whether or not they are successful - it's an area a lot of organisations don't pay enough attention to.I also see learning as a key instrument for bringing about lasting change and recognise the strong link between people development and organisational change."
During her five years at HBOS (initially with Clerical Medical Investment Group), Gillian developed and implemented a series of major initiatives including the creation of a highly popular change-consulting service within the business. She also established and delivered a clear agenda of management development processes, programmes and activities, including succession planning for senior management roles and focused development programmes for high potential staff.
In addition to writing and launching a new learning and development strategy with full executive support, Gustar also led the project team of Booz Allen and internal consultants to create a new organisation design for the business, and then implemented the appointment and development process for the top 60 roles.
Prior to her last post, Gustar spent two years with the Guinness Ireland Group as Head of Organisation and People Development where she was strongly involved in working through change, being called on to create an OD agenda that reinforced the 'single company' message following the merger of all operations within Ireland. This challenge was preceded by nine years in various operational HR roles within computer manufacturer ICL.

"Gillian,s experience and input will enrich the way we work with our clients by strengthening the expertise we offer in organisational development. She shares OCG's belief that people development and organisation development are inextricably linked: for organisations to be effective, its people have to be at their best , making a wholehearted contribution; for people development to succeed, the organisation needs to be a healthy, energetic system able to both shape and adapt to its environment."
Gillian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has an M.Sc. in Organisation and Management Development.
