Dr. Beverly Gurley, principal specialist at Blenheim, discussed the state Department of Education External Review Team (ERT) mandated implementation plan for Blenhiem Elementary/Middle School.The ERT team is required to visit the school since the school didn't meet Adequate Yearly Progress two years in a row.The ERT team identified areas that the school needed to improve.Gurley said some areas the team identified as areas in need of improvement included safety requirements, the school's communication system, air quality (mold and mildew) and exposed wires.Gurley said the school is in need of funding in order to implement the changes the ERT recommended."We deserve better than what we have at Blenheim," she said.
