Colorado fires displacing animals as well as peoplePETCO raising money to assist overburdened local shelters

"The fires in Colorado have now begun to seriously impact the area's pet population," PETCO Regional Marketing Coordinator Terri Gunn said."The shelters are beginning to fill up with displaced animals or pets that are not allowed in the temporary shelters."

The food will be distributed through the three Colorado Springs PETCO stores to these two local animal welfare organizations, but the situation will continue to be monitored to ensure that other shelter's needs are met if the situation worsens.
