The recipient of Roberto's liver, 64-year-old Mike Gallo of San Francisco, and Transplant Network Community Outreach Coordinator Salvador Guerrero, also will travel to Sahuayo to participate in the July 25 celebration honoring Roberto Segura and his family.

According to Salvador Guerrero of the California Transplant Donor Network, 15,859 Caucasians, 3,290 African Americans and 374 Asians donated organs in Northern California during 1995.

Salvador Guerrero, M.D., NBF runs the CDV Men's program providing in-hospital support for Latino men diagnosed with cancer, and in-home support for the terminal phase of their illness. He is a Nationally Certified Bereavement Facilitator with the American Academy of Bereavement, and a Certified American Red Cross CPR Instructor. In addition, he is a medical consultant for Telemundo 48/Univision 14, as well as Spanish Radio 1010AM/1170FM. Dr. Guerrero has a Medical Degree and a Physical Therapy Technical Degree from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Salvador Guerrero, a CTDN community outreach coordinator who speaks Spanish, is part of the donor network's effort to educate the public on organ donation.

"Having someone there who really can communicate with them about the decision I think made the difference," he said, referring to Campos' case.

Every three hours someone in the country dies because of the shortage of donor organs, according to CTDN.
