Alice Handy Grubbs

Alice Handy Grubbs 92, Greenwood formerly Indianapolis passed away January 22, 2005.She was born January 21, 1913 in Johnson County to Clarence and Grace (White) Handy.Alice married Ronald E. Grubbs on April 15, 1950 in Franklin and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1994.She was a 1948 graduate from Indiana University with a BS degree in Education and in 1963 from Butler University with a MS degree in Counseling.She was an Instructor for 24 years for Indianapolis Public Schools of Practical Nursing retiring in 1976.Alice served with the Army Nurse Corp during WWII being discharged with the rank of Captain.Her memberships included Olive Branch Christian Church, Charter Member of Retired Nurse's Association and life member of Indiana University.Services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 26 in Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, with visitation 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 25.Burial Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin.Memorial gifts have been suggested to Arthritis Foundation.
