The Jersey Heritage Trust has appointed Linda Romeril as Head of Archives and Collections as successor to Sue Groves.

We are extremely grateful to Sue, and her two predecessors, for establishing the role of the Archive in Island life and developing its statutory responsibilities - but to appoint a Jersey-born and educated person to head this service gives us the greatest satisfaction," he said
Mrs Romeril's association with the Archive dates back to 1994 when she spent the summer holidays assisting with cataloguing projects.When her university days ended in 1997 she returned to Jersey, when she joined the Trust as a full time Archivist.

"I have been extremely lucky to have the support of the Trust and in particular Denise Williams and Sue Groves in my development over the past ten years," she said."I feel that the work we do at the Jersey Heritage Trust, to preserve and give members of the public access to the archive material of the Island, is a vital part of our cultural heritage and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue the development of the Jersey Archive and its staff and will be working hard to ensure that the service continues its high standards," she said.
Sue Groves came to Jersey as Head of Archives and Collections at the Jersey Heritage Trust in October 2002 as a J-cat.Sue and her husband, Jo Mitchell, plan to stay in the Island.
