Union AD resigns, will teach at Cowan -

MODOC - Aaron Groves, athletic director and boys' varsity basketball coach for Union High School, has resigned.
Groves has been hired as a full-time teacher at Cowan High School.In addition to teaching, he will coach some junior-high sports.
Groves disclosed in a written statement that he felt this was a good move because he wants to be able to spend more time at home with is his wife, who is expecting a child any day.
Groves has spent 23 of the last 25 years at Union, either as a student, teacher, coach or athletic director.Groves, who coached the Rockets to a 2-19 record last season in basketball, will remain at Union until Tuesday.
