    Greer named new attorney for county E-mail

    Jonathan Greer, 35, of North Little Rock has been named the Saline County civil attorney, County Judge Lanny Fite said.

    Greer currently serves as general counsel with the Association of Arkansas Counties, where he has been the staff contact with the Arkansas County Clerks Association, the Arkansas Circuit Clerks Association and the Arkansas Treasurer's Association.He also served on the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Planning Committee for the Arkansas Secretary of State's Office.He is a member of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission's Consolidated Plan Advisory Committee and the advisory committee for the Arkansas land commissioner's office.Before working at the Association of Arkansas Counties, he worked as a grants administrator at the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District, where he assisted 10 counties with economic development projects.He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public administration from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's William H. Bowen School of Law.He became a member of the Arkansas Bar Association in 2002.

    This is according to Arkansas Code 14-14-1309, which calls for a "one time insertion in a newspaper of general circulation in the county," said Jonathan Greer, general counsel for the Association of Arkansas Counties.

    "My understanding of what they did was that they appointed an interim circuit clerk after the judge had came back with an executive order naming an acting circuit clerk," he said.
