Lauren lives in Florida and came to the Foundation's attention thanks to Ruth Greenspan, a board member of the Southeast Florida Chapter.Maestro Pavarotti's long-time friend said that he has never done a public service announcement for any other charity.Maestro's companion - Nicoletta Mantovani has an aunt with scleroderma.

Ruth Greenspan is chairwoman of the board for the Southeast Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation."They never get wrinkles," she said."They describe it as turning to stone."

Scleroderma is a chronic autoimmune disease that means "hard skin."It causes the body's tissue to harden and can affect the skin and internal organs.

Greenspan is the mother of actor Jason Alexander, who co-starred in Seinfeld.
