David joined the group in 1998 when V.Ships acquired the Celtic Marine group of companies where he was Managing Director.Previously he had a career as a shipmaster.

However, David Greenhalgh, MD of V.Ships (Isle of Man), has a higher opinion of the crews themselves: "We mustn,t underestimate the professional abilities of a seafarer to deal with petty officials who have been the cause of their annoyance by their attitude and insufferable incompetence for as long as ships have sailed between ports."
