We continue to be excited by this collaboration, our largest and broadest in scope, to demonstrate the potential for our technology to accelerate both the identification and optimization of lead drug candidates," said Eric B. Gordon, President and CEO of ArQule."Our collaboration with Wyeth-Ayerst provides an excellent opportunity to apply both our Mapping Array and our Directed Array Programs to identify and optimize leads for a broad array of therapeutic targets."
ArQule's Mapping Array Program generates a chemical information database of structural activity relationships from biased compound sets of novel, diverse, and pure small organic compounds.During their 5-year subscription period, this program will be applied to provide Wyeth-Ayerst with a minimum of one million individual novel compounds for lead identification, as well as valuable information to enhance the productivity of the lead identification process.Once leads are identified, Wyeth-Ayerst will use ArQule's Directed Array Program, an iterative parallel process used to rapidly optimize those lead compounds as drug candidates for the clinic.
