"There could be short-term challenges due to global economic uncertainties," chief executive officer Kris Gopalakarishnan conceded.

, The government will have to increase the quality of education, said S. "Kris" Gopalkrishnan, chief operating officer and co-founder of Infosys, in an interview at the company's headquarters in Bangalore.

Mr Kris Gopalkrishnan, chief executive of Infosys, said that the acquisition would help the software giant to expand its operations in important markets of Europe.

Ideally, over a medium and long term, we would like the blend to be 60 per cent from the Americas, 30 per cent from Europe and West Asia and the rest from other geographies," said Kris Gopalkrishnan, COO, president and joint managing director, Infosys Technologies.

He added: "We have delivered double-digit growth in dollar terms for the third consecutive quarter during this fiscal.
