Diane M. Goodman is a partner in the law firm of Goodman & Metz.She attended University of La Vern Law School in the San Fernando Valley, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in May, 1984.She was admitted to the California State Bar in November, 1984.
Ms. Goodman's practice focuses on family law, including mediation, dissolution, paternity, adoption and guardianship matters with an emphasis on representing gay and lesbian litigants in adoption and custody proceedings.
Ms. Goodman is the past president of the Academy of California Adoption Lawyers and its subsidiary, the Academy of California Family Formation Lawyers.She served as a commissioner on the Los Angeles City Commission on the Status of Women from 1980 , 1990, and Ms. Goodman is also a member of the Southern California Mediation Association, Congregation Beth Chayim Chadashim, the American Civil Liberties Union, Lawyers for Human Rights and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.She is the president of the Special Children's Art Foundation.
Ms. Goodman was co-counsel for Lisa R. in the 2005 California Supreme Court ruling which upheld parentage judgments for same-sex couples.

Ms. Goodman lives with her life partner of over three decades and they have an adult son.In her spare time, she plays ice hockey.
