The Sooner Athletic Conference has announced that Northwestern Oklahoma State's Kati Jo Gabaldon and Lubbock Christian University's Marissa Gonzalez have been named Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week for March 17-23.

Gonzalez, a senior from Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif., tossed her third no-hitter of the season - a perfect game against Dordt College, and also hung a loss on top-ranked California Baptist. She was 5-0 on the week with a 0.84 earned run average and 54 strikeouts in 25 innings. The honor is the fourth this season for Gonzalez in the SAC and it is the second time she has claimed the regional honor.

Gonzalez earns Pitcher of the Week honors after her performance at the Brigham Young/Utah Valley State Tournament last weekend.

Gonzalez threw 10.2 innings in two appearances and posted a 1-0 record.She started and pitched a complete game in the Thunderbirds' first win of the season, a 14-6 mercy-rule win over UVSC, when she struck out nine and walked just three.

Gonzalez also tossed 4.2 innings of relief work against BYU.

UTPB (5-11) was hitless against Lubbock Christian pitcher Marissa Gonzalez in the first game, as Gonzales struck out 12 and walked two.Lubbock Christian broke the game open by scoring six runs in the bottom of the second.
