Central Elementary School student Andrew Gonzales won first place in the softball throw, shot put and discus and second in the 60-meter run and the 100-meter run.

Andrew Gonzales took home two first-place medals in the GUMBO State Invitational track meet held Oct. 13 at the Louisiana School for the Deaf.

Gonzales' coach Arlene Molliere, spent hours getting Gonzales and the other children ready for the competition.

Gonzales is a second-grade student at Central Elementary School.He won first place in the shot put and softball throw and second place in the 100 and 200 meter races.
