Andrew Gold Headmaster at East Milton Primary school was our President.

President Barclay Wales presented Past President and Paul Harris Fellow Andrew Gold with a well earned "Four Avenues of Service" award.

In addition our Past President and Paul Harris Fellow Andrew Gold, was presented with a Paul Harris Sapphire by District 1230 for his 13 years work as District Magazine Editor.

Andrew Gold was a well known Rotarian throughout the District, unfortunately in his latter years he was not enjoying the best of health but he still with the willingness of his family tried when possible to come along to the Rotary Lunch & enjoy the banter with his fellow Rotarians at the East Kilbride club where he was held in the highest esteem & a club that he worked so hard for,for many years

Andrew served the District as Editor of the District magazine for thirteen years which in itself was no mean task.& for his service to District they awarded him Paul Harris sapphire in 2001 which superseded his award Paul Harris award made to him by East Kilbride Rotary Club for his service to the club & Rotary International.Andrew as president of East Kilbride encouraged new members to participate in Rotary life through sheer example, his attendance with his wife Jean at Conference's dinners etc.

The club is saddened by the loss of David who joined East Kilbride Rotary Club on the 26th January 1968 giving the club 36 years of active service.David served on Club Council & became President 1976-77 After which he served as club auditor from 1979 until 2001.David was made a Paul Harris Fellow in 1997.In his latter years David did not enjoy good health but still found the energies to serve others before self with his contributions to the East Kilbride Talking Book Club
