Amy Gold, a fourth-grade teacher at the Hess School in Mays Landing, began a fundraiser for Gilda' Club in Linwood.The fourth-grade classes raised $2208.Gold's class raised $736.

Gold chose Gilda's Club because the mother of her students was suffering from cancer and died on Valentine's Day.The children brought in dimes, and parents contributed as well.

"One fourth-grade mother works as a bartender at a casino," Gold said.
