Ann Gloag and her brother, Brian Souter, founded Stagecoach Group Plc in 1980.

Ann was managing director from 1986 -1993 and is now a non-executive director on the main board.

Ann works extensively for charity.She is a trustee of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and a board member of Marie Curie.Ann is extensively involved with the Mercy Ships Charity and serves on their international board.She recently purchased a ship for the Mercy Ships fleet, "The Africa Mercy", which is currently being outfitted as a hospital ship.

In December 2001 Ann, through her Balcraig Foundation, founded a Nairobi school as she passionately believes in education for disadvantaged children.
