  David Gittings has been appointed as the new chairman of the CII's London Market Faculty advisory board.He succeeds Derek Thornton who has completed his term of office.
  
  David is currently on the Executive Committee and is chairman of the Risk Management Committee at Wellington as well as being chairman of the audit committee of the Financial Services Skills Council, chairman of the Lloyd's Market Association Professional Standards Committee and vice president of the Insurance Institute of London.Throughout his career David has held prominent positions at the London Stock Exchange, the Securities and Futures Authority and the FSA.

  David Gittings - David Gittings was appointed Chief Executive of the LMA in December 2006.From 1995 to 2002, David was Director of Regulation at Lloyd's of London.He was a founding director of the General Insurance Standards Council, where he served in a non-executive capacity from 1999 , 2002, and is currently a director of the Financial Services Skills Council.David served as the first chairman of the Lloyd's Market Association's Professional Standards Committee from November 2004 and in November 2006 was appointed chairman of the London Market Faculty Board of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).He has an honours degree in Law from London University and was called to the bar at Middle Temple.
