Orlando FL- Robert H. Brown, President/CEO of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida announced today that Mr. Thomas S. (Tommy) Giordano, Vice President of Development for the Orlando Science Center has been named as the new Vice President for Development for central Florida's largest homeless services provider.

Expanded fundraising efforts are now of utmost importance "with our nation's current economic climate we have been experiencing a dramatic increase in the demand for our services, therefore the need for additional funding is essential; we are delighted that Mr. Giordano has agreed to join us during this crucial time" stated Brown.

Mr. Giordano also served for seven years as Associate Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Florida Hospital Foundation.The Foundation's net worth tripled during his tenure.Overall, he has been in the financial planning arena for 37 years.He was founder and president of his own company for 21 years.He then joined the Christian Broadcasting Network as Senior Estate Planning Specialist, where he spent seven years conducting estate-planning seminars in 46 states.He spent the next eight years as a successful consultant to non-profit organizations nationwide.He is a past president of the Orlando Science Center Associate Board of Trustees, Board Member of Words of Life Broadcasting and a past Board Member of Teen Challenge of Florida.
Thanks to a generous two year grant from the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, the Coalition has been able to initiate the establishment of an expanded development office and the implementation of some targeted development programs.With this grant the Coalition retained a consultant to conduct an independent analysis of the development operations of the Coalition, including past, present and future plans for resource development.Mr. Giordano will work with Coalition leadership to create the strategy and then implement this plan.
