    Named one of the "Top 100 IT Channel Executives" in 2006 by VARBusiness magazine, Gillies previously served as vice president and general manager for Iomega, a supplier of portable computer storage devices.He was responsible for the North America division, which involved sales, marketing and the profit and loss functions for the United States, Canada and Latin America.

    Gillies also served as senior vice president for the Chicago-based Visual Systems Division (VSD) of NEC Solutions America, where he was responsible for the NEC projector and plasma business unit.At NEC he successfully grew the business units' market share and profitability and successfully positioned NEC as a leader in the display market.

    His background also includes a combined 16 years at Proxima and InFocus Corporation, where he served a variety of sales, marketing and distribution management roles in North America, Europe and Latin America.After the Proxima merger, he served as vice president of Value Added Channels and Latin America for InFocus Corporation.

    Gillies holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin.He serves on the board of advisors for Sonic Foundry, a leading digital media solutions provider and developer of Media Site Live, as well as the University of Wisconsin, School of Business.Gillies is an active member of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA).

    A Southern California resident, Gillies is also active in his community and supports the area's underprivileged citizens as a member of the Los Angeles and Long Beach Legal Aid Foundation.

    A seasoned sales and marketing veteran, Gillies brings to NEC almost two decades of projector and PC peripheral market experience and accomplishments that have resulted in worldwide market share, revenue and profit growth.Prior to NEC, he worked for 15 years at Proxima Corporation where he served a variety of sales, marketing and distribution management roles in North America, Europe and Latin America.He also served as vice president - Value Added Channels & Latin America for InFocus Corporation.Most recently, Gillies was senior director of sales and marketing for Think Outside, Inc., the global market leader for PDA and Smartphone input devices, where he was responsible for developing the sales and marketing strategy and managed strategic accounts in the enterprise and education segments.
