Rob is an attorney in Foley & Mansfield's San Francisco office, focusing his practice in the area of Toxic Tort and Mass Litigation.Prior to joining Foley & Mansfield, Rob worked for Bishop Barry Howe Haney & Ryder where his practice included complex litigation and extensive discovery and research, including numerous thorough depositions of experts, witnesses, and plaintiffs and where he gained extensive trial preparation experience in asbestos defense.He also spent several years as a solo practitioner, serving as an of-counsel security consultant and expert witness.
Rob received his J.D. from Hastings College of Law, San Francisco, in 1990 where he was a David P. Snodgrass Moot Court participant.He earned his M.A. in Anthropology from California State University, San Francisco, in 1973 and his B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1970.
Prior to law school, Rob spent ten years as an officer in the Oakland Police Department where he was assigned to the Patrol and Tactical Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Vice-Narcotics Division and Special Operations Section.Rob taught in the Police Academy and gained broad experience in fraud investigation and prosecution, mediation and negotiations.
Rob served as director of the Administration of Justice Program in Yokosuka, Japan, and NAS Alameda, CA, from 1973-1977 where he was assigned to the Department of Defense as the program administrator and instructor of criminal justice classes at U.S. Navy bases and ships, both overseas and domestic.He has also served as adjunct faculty teaching in the areas of criminal law and procedure, gang organization, organized crime, anthropology and sociology since 1997.
Rob is a member of the California State Bar Association.
