Peter has built a career focus on innovative training program development and delivery, and has extensive experience in public consultation and conference development, programming and management.
Peter currently manages Equilibrio's contract with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to help deliver the Energy Sector Consultations for the Canadian Innovation Strategy, using an extensive toolkit of face to face and electronic consultation skills.Other recent consultation projects include the National Inuit Health Information Consultations in Inuvik summer 2001, and the Boreal Forest Biodiversity Network (at the University of British Columbia) workshops in Prince George in November 2001.
He has designed and delivered the Skills Workshop Series at each of the following international conferences: the 11th International Conference on AIDS (Vancouver '96); the 5th International Conference on AIDS in Asia (Manila '97); the People's Summit on APEC (Vancouver '97); and the National Skills Building Symposium (Toronto '98).In November '99 Peter provided conference design and facilitation services in New Delhi, India, for the launch of a Global Information Network on Medicinal Plants.
As a consultations and conference specialist, Peter works with conference organizers, funders and participants to develop the program, assist workshop resource people in developing their own workshops, and facilitate key meetings.As principal partner for seven years of One World Training , Peter keeps busy in the front lines of facilitation at Langara College in Vancouver delivering the facilitator training series-"Workshops that Work".He has worked in Vancouver on low income employment issues - building on corridors of strength such as volunteerism and small business.His training manual-Learning on Our Feet: a simple curriculum for facilitator training is distributed from his Web site.His work experience also includes more than ten years working in the corporate sector.
Peter holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.His interests include poetry and drama.He maintains SZINGzine , a poetry writing and training site, and is the summer 2002 coordinator of Wakefield Summer Theatre .
Peter is General Manager of Equilibrio.
